Announcements this Week

All events are listed on our Zion church calendar on this website.  Check this calendar at any time if you have schedule questions.

THIS SUNDAY we conclude this year’s Advent theme on the “Words of Advent – Hope, Peace, Joy and Love” with Love being the word of the day.  We look forward to using the message of these words in our preparations for Christmas.  Please note that the Advent banners in the nave and fellowship hall are carrying out this Advent theme.

Since we were not able to receive the food collection last Sunday, food items will be received this Sunday, Dec. 21st for the Tuckerton Food Pantry.

CHRISTMAS EVE WORSHIP will be held on Wed., Dec. 24th at 5:00

OUR NEW WINTER WORSHIP SCHEDULE will begin on Sunday, Dec. 28th with one worship service at 9:30 in the Nave.  We will follow this schedule thru March 29th after which we will resume services at 8:30 & 10:00.  The church council unanimously adopted this change of schedule which was recommended by the Worship Planning Team (WPT) for a number of reasons, some of which are - • doubling the pool of members available to serve as ushers, worship leaders, tech team, etc. for one worship service during the seasonal absence of persons who function in these areas • bringing the members of the congregation together to have a closer church community prior to the summer months of separation • a single physical set-up for 3 months (no need to set-up & breakdown the fellowship hall before and after each service) • time & cost savings.

The 9:30 service be a blend of both the 8:30 & 10:00 services, like the SSSS format, but with minor changes.  The WPT will be reviewing the service format and make changes as needed during the 3 month time period.  The WPT and council recognize that change is not easy (time of service, place of service, type of worship) but because of circumstances, changes had to be made.  We hope that everyone understands this and will join together for the sake of the well being of the Zion Family.

The US FLAG for December is given in memory of Larry by Judy Wyckoff.

The ALTAR TABLE FLOWERS are given in memory of Doug Simpson by Judy Simpson.
