Announcements this Week

All events are listed on our Zion church calendar on this website.  Check this calendar at any time if you have schedule questions.

WELCOME to EPIPHANY – The word Epiphany means “to reveal, to show”.  The Epiphany season answers the question “Who is this Jesus who was born in Bethlehem?”.  Last Sunday, the Christ child is identified as a king.  This Sunday, we hear a voice from heaven say, “This is my Son, the Beloved.”  The ultimate question of Epiphany is “Who is Jesus for you”?  How do you answer?

FOOD ITEMS will be received for the Tuckerton Food Pantry this Sunday, Jan 11th.  Financial gifts are also welcomed.

NOTICE – The Annual Meeting of the Congregational will take place on Sunday, January 25 following the 9:30 worship service.  All members are encouraged to make preparations to be in attendance.  The Bulletin of Reports will be distributed on January 18.

HELP NEEDED – realizing many hands make light work……assistance is presently needed in two areas of our congregational life.  If you can help, please do so by returning the below.  You will be contacted to explain responsibilities and schedule.  If you are willing to assist with counting the offering or with coffee hour please contact the church at zionchurchlbi@gmail.com

A NOTE FROM DIANE BURKLAND - Dear Zion members, On Sunday, January 4, I received a Christmas card with a lovely note and a most generous gift inside. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. It is indeed a joy to serve our Lord together with you.

WEBSITE UPDATES – Photos from the Children’s Live Nativity and the Christmas Eve service are now posted on Zion’s website ( zionlbi.org ).  On the home page, scroll down to “Fellowship at Zion” and click on any image to enlarge.

The ZOOM BIBLE STUDY led by Glenn & Diane Burkland will continue a study of the Gospel of Matthew on Tuesday, January 20th from 10-11 AM.  This is a good opportunity to begin the new year in the Scripture.  The goal of the Bible Study is to explore Biblical texts to consider how they direct us to reflect on God, live our lives, express faith and set priorities.  Contact the church via email for zoom link :  zionchurchlbi@gmail.com.

US FLAG DEDICATION - Monthly flag dedications are still available for 2026.  The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board in the narthex.
